Sort your Files and Folders Alphabetically (Windows 95/98)

Most of us like to see our files in alphabetical order when we open Windows Explorer. Sometimes you may open Explorer and see that you files are not in alphabetical order. So you go ahead and set them to be viewed in order and close Explorer. Then when you come back again they are no longer in order.

There is a method Microsoft recommends to fix this problem. To do so, perform the following steps exactly as described:

1. Right click on Start and choose Explore

2. Click on your C: drive in the left window

3. Click on the View menu then pick details

4. Sort your files alphabetically by clicking on the Name column.

6. Hold down the Ctrl key and close Explorer by clicking on the X in the upper right hand corner.

7. Restart your computer
